Certification and Quality

Quality, safety and a responsible approach to manufacturing

In our manufacturing process, we place emphasis not only on high-quality workmanship and the long service life of our products, but also on their safety, functionality and suitability for everyday use.
These requirements are particularly important for furniture intended for schools and nurseries.

Our manufacturing processes and products therefore comply with strict European standards.
For surface finishes, we use only non-toxic, water-based varnishes that comply with the EN 71-3 toy safety standard.
Upon request, we can arrange for production using FSC-certified materials.

EN 1729-1

Correct dimensions for school furniture

The EN 1729-1 standard applies to chairs and tables intended for educational establishments and specifies their functional dimensions and associated markings. It covers, amongst other things, furniture used in schools, nurseries and other educational establishments.

For the customer, this primarily means an emphasis on the correct proportions of the furniture in relation to its users. When furnishing a nursery or school, it is therefore possible to select tables and chairs of an appropriate size according to the children’s age and body proportions.

EN 1729-2

Safety and durability in everyday use

The EN 1729-2 standard sets out safety requirements and test methods for chairs and tables used in educational establishments, including nurseries and early years care centres.

School and nursery furniture is subjected to intensive use throughout the day, so it is not enough for it simply to look good. Stability, structural safety and the furniture’s ability to withstand normal everyday wear and tear are also important.

This standard therefore represents another important factor when assessing furniture intended for environments where it is used by children on a daily basis.

FSC®

Wood with a traceable origin

Wood is our primary material, which is why we care about the forests it comes from. We are proud holders of FSC® certification.

What does this mean for you? The FSC® label guarantees that the timber has been harvested sustainably, with due regard for nature, human rights and the health of the forests.

What is the benefit? The journey of the timber, from the tree in the forest to the finished chair in our workshop, is strictly monitored and traceable.

We can make anything: We are able to produce any product from our range entirely from FSC®-certified material at the customer’s request. We do not use it as standard due to the higher cost, but if you require certification (for example, for a local authority contract), simply state this in your enquiry and we will be happy to accommodate you.
